Seeing Eye Dogs – Puppy Carer Application Form

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Puppy Carer, please complete the application form below and submit.

Due to the huge volume of interest in the caring program, our full time Puppy Carer program is currently only accepting applications in Bendigo, Ballarat, Sunshine Coast and surrounding regional areas only.

If you are not residing in the areas above and would like to be added to our register to receive updates on the status of the program, simply email: sedvolunteer@visionaustralia.org

To proceed with this application, all details must be of the primary puppy carer only.

Please select your preferred puppy caring option
Are you able to provide lots of loving care and socialisation to a puppy?
Do you agree you will not leave the pup alone, or with someone else, for more than 3.5 hours?
Do you have a warm and safe indoor space where the puppy can sleep?
Are you and your puppy available to meet with the Puppy Development Training staff for regular 2 hour visits during business hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm)?
Are you moderately physically fit and emotionally able to walk a puppy on a daily basis? For example: taking the puppy for regular walks, shopping centre visits, to cafés, on public transport, on socialisation trips and toileting?
Are you willing to complete a reference and background check including a Police Check and Working with Children Check?
To protect our most valuable assets, can you please confirm you have not been convicted of animal cruelty in Australia or elsewhere?
Are you able to drive and have immediate car access to transport the pup/dog to Kensington or any other location as required?
Are you able to attend a 2 hour group induction when you pick-up your puppy from Seeing Eye Dogs during business hours? (If you are regional alternative arrangements may be arranged).
